Season Updates 3-15-21

Hello Cibola families.

I want to share some information with you all.

In the near future, I anticipate Little League will be allowed to play games. I have no solid information, just things I have heard. In looking at the reopening of the schools, NMAA activities resuming, and adult league sports being allowed, I believe we will be allowed to begin Little League games soon.

If that occurs and once the Governor and the DOH make that announcement, things will start happening quickly. The District will want to begin putting together a game schedule. That means we will have to have our teams set so they can be put on the game schedule. That means we will have to close registration so our teams can be set. Once registration closes, no new registrations will be accepted. The only exception to this is if a team is short on players, like 9 or 10 players, we will add players to that team until it is full. But we will not be adding new teams. That would create a mess with the game schedule and is not fair to the District Official donating his time to create the game schedule.

Not only do we have to look at the creation of the game schedule for closing registration, we also have to look at the ordering of uniforms.

For those reasons, once registration closes, it will be a hard closure, meaning NO OTHER REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED, with the exception of needing to add players to a team. A date for the close of registration will be determined on when we are allowed to start games. We have to allow enough time for the game schedule to be created and for uniforms to be ordered and received.

If you are at all interested in your child playing baseball or softball this season, please register before registration closes. We have set the registration cost set in such a way as to allow full refunds if the season does not happen. If the season is allowed and then shut down, we can still offer full refunds until uniforms are ordered. If the season is shut down after we place a uniform order, the refund would be minus the cost of a uniform, with the player receiving the uniform. We will try to keep the cost of the uniform as low as possible so in the event we have to issue refunds minus the cost of a uniform, that cost will be minimal with the families still being refunded a large percentage of the registration cost.

Thank you and I hope everyone is doing well.
