2024 Volunteer Changes

LL has changed the requirements to be able to volunteer for the 2024 season and adopted a more robust background screening process.

This season all volunteers will be required to complete abuse awareness training in order to be considered for approval to be an approved volunteer.

This is going to be annual requirement. Your certificate for the season must be dated on or after 1 Oct 2023 for the 2024 season.

Volunteering Process

In order to volunteer for the 2024 season as a volunteer, you must complete the following steps:

  1. Complete the USA Baseball’s BASE Abuse Awareness Training
  2. Complete the Request 2024 Season Background Check Form
    • This form is not the background check, it only notifies the league to initiate the background check process for you.
  3. Complete the JDP Background Check once it is sent to you.
    • The JDP link expires after 14 days.
  4. Wait for notification from the league that your background check has been completed.
  5. Obtain a badge from a board member before engaging in any activities with the players. You must be able to present this badge to any parent, board member, or coach that asks for it. No exceptions!

  1. Accessing USA Baseball: USAB Develops
  2. In the top right corner, click register/sign in
    1. If you completed this for all-stars last year or another sport, log in.
    2. If you have not completed this before, click register.
      1. After registering, if you are not logged in automatically, log in.
  3. Accessing the course.
    1. If you have not completed the course before
      1. Click Education at the top.
      2. Scroll down and click on Courses.
      3. Scroll down and click on Abuse Awareness for Adults
      4. Complete the course.
    2. If you have completed the course before
      1. Click your name in the top right corner of the page.
      2. Click My Account
      3. Click Courses on the left.
      4. Click Restart Course for the Abuse Awareness for Adults
      5. Complete the course.
  4. After completion, you will get an email with a link to download your certificate.
  5. Download the certificate and email us a copy of the certificate.
